WOO!

Ok, so as everyone read we are having some problems getting people together for a spring break trip because everyone has different spring breaks. So, I was thinking we should just go sometime over the summer. It may be like $15 more expensive, but it should still be very very cheap. I am thinking like $130 total, or around that. Depends on if gas prices stay low. Also, it depends on how long everyone wants to stay. I vote for staying a week which would be around $70 for the whole week.

And this way people will all be in St. Louis for rides - so people don't have to worry about flying cause we will already be in St. Louis for summer break. If anyone is interested in taking a trip to Myrtle Beach this summer for about $130 dollars just post letting me know what you think.

It will be tons of fun!

secret santa

on a lighter note, i think we should do secret santas. my roommate said she would do the picking of names and stuff, so if everyone will just say if they want to be a part, and see if people outside the blog want to, and let me know.

rules:
don't spend too much. just give something that shows some thought and/or effort. for instance, something homemade or something unique to your college home or something.
since mailing something would come with a stamp of where it came from, it's probably not preferable. so you should just save whatever you want to give your person until a big party that we will have over break. ok? snazzo.

two flats and a ditch later...

well, don't know about everyone else, but i had kind of an eventful vacation. first off, 300 feet or so from missouri our tire blows. so we (me and brian) pull over, change the tire in the dark and cold, and continue on. after a bit (now inside missouri) we discover there's something wrong with the spare. so we pull into a gas station for air, and their air pump is broken. so this lady who lives nearby offers to help us since the nearest gas station is several miles away and we might not make it. her husband tries to fill our tire with their air compressor and discovers that the spare has a hole. long story short, we bought their spare tire from them and drove home.

friday, i go to the city museum and get hugged by this random guy who thinks i'm someone else. after that i spend about an hour in the caves wondering where everyone is. sunday, extended family confuses me with a)my brother's fiancee and b)an exchange student (presumably the one that stayed with us two years ago).

then we head back. and an hour or so from grinnell we drive off the road. we came upon a ramp with a sharp curve, and it was dark and wet, and the driver had been driving for a long time so was tired, and we went off the road down the hill. it was one of those areas that made kind of a downward triangle of the land, and we were near the corner, so it was bumpy and scary but no one got hurt (well, except the car). if we had been further into the curve and gone down the steeper part, it would have been a lot more dangerous. as it was we just had to wait for the cops and the tow truck to come, then the cops drove us (toting our stuff, including illegal (in iowa) fireworks) to mcdonalds to wait for a friend from grinnell to pick us up.

it's good to not have to drive anywhere else for a long time.

tulsa's on fire!!!

so yesterday was pretty interesting....
came back down here to lovely tulsa, oklahoma only to be greeted by rain and 70 mph winds
well apparently some lightning started some fires and the wind made them huge so lots of tulsa (and the surrounding areas) were on fire last night
it was crazy.. the news kept interrupting programs, people were evacuated and whatnot
my campus was fine the closest fire was at 71st street and the campus is on 15th street
and all the places that had the fire won't have power for at least 48 hours... i feel their pain though cause two summers ago lemay lost power for 72 hours.. so it's gonna suck for them
but yeah.. fire everywhere, big winds.. kind of a cool thing to be greeted by after a week in stl

RENT Review

ok, so i just saw RENT, and i thought it was amazing. i got to see it a day early because shane got special viewing tickets from a neighbor. i don't know how or why, but when good things happen, i usually don't ask such questions. it was directed by Chris Columbus (the director of the first two harry potter movies) so i had my doubts, but i thought it was really well done. some songs were cut (sadly, it had to be done, people, because the attention of American movie goers is only so long...and it is a movie and we all know how movies tend to distort the originals) but there are some things that can only really be explored in a real life setting which this movie gave to the musical. ie-mark riding around on his bike in NY. you just can't get that on stage. seeing the musical in person is definitely better, no arguments here. but for the thousands of people who want a taste of RENT's spirit, it's perfect. the cast did a good job of keeping Jonathan Larson's message in tact. it was really beautiful very, very well done. i can't wait to own it and watch it a million times since (unfortunately for me, RENT can't be in town forever). Joann's voice was gorgeous...well, so was everyone's but hers especially. The last image of the movie (which i shan't give away) was especially touching I thought. all together, given the facts, i give it a solid A. it was moving and funny. it didn't shy away from any issues of the musical, and kept the spirit living on. but you don't have to take my word for it...duh-duh-duh....(Reading Rainbow anyone??)

noodle good

carolyn, i had my first ever EZ mac tonight and i thought of you.

Random Attack Wednesday and City Museum

First and foremost, Stuart wants to get everyone to go the City Museum the Friday after Thanksgiving. Good way to get the gang back together. Secondly, I am introducing a phenomenon called Random Attack Wednesday. This wonderful game is basically just flat out tackling each other on Wednesdays. My friend Nate thought of it, and I was unfortunately the recipient of it before I found out the occasion. I still love the idea, so I know I will be playing. Just a "for your information". That'll do.

I'M HOME AROUND FRIDAY, 18, AROUND 6. SO FUCKING EXCITED!!!!!!

SPRING BREAK CONT'D!!

If anyone who is interested in going could post A.S.A.P. We really want to get plans going because the sooner everything is arranged the cheaper it is. So please, if you are interested let me or Miryam know as soon as you possibly can. And if anyone is able to find out for sure if they can go or not we really need to find that out soon as well. So everyone, call and beg your parents and please please please try and find out for sure if you can go soon!

You guys could even ask your parents if they would pay for a Christmas present. I know I am asking for money for Christmas to help pay for this. And everyone gets money from relatives at Christmas anyway, hold on to that money.

K, so let us know as soon as you can. We really want to get everyone from the old group back together and have some more good times like we always used to have. This is the perfect opportunity to do so.

I am so anxious to get everyone back together, that if anyone absolutely cannot afford to go, I am willing to pay for that persons share of gas money and food. Which means that person would only have to pay at most 60 dollars. How good of a deal is that?

SPRING BREAK!!

Ok, so Miryam, Tommy, and myself have decided we want to go to Myrtle Beach for Spring Break this year. With all the hotels we looked at, we can either have like 4 people go and have the cost really cheap, or like 10-12 people go and have the cost really cheap. We would prefer a bunch of people to go so we can all be together again. I know everyone misses just hanging out with our Nerinx group and doing crazy things like brownie fights and having cake eating contests.

So if we got 10 people to go it would only cost 60 dollars for six nights at a nice hotel and if we found a hotel that fits more people it will be even cheaper. Ten dollars or less per night!! We want people to drive so that no one has to pay for flying. We could split the cost of gas between everyone who is going. It will be a good way to spend a week with everyone again and it will be at the beach.

The dates are from March 11th - March 17th. I do not want to hear anyone say they cannot afford it because I guarantee everyone if I can afford it you all can afford it. I litrally have like 15 dollars in the bank. And that is going to be spent on going to see the musical. So after buying two tickets to Beauty and the Beast I will actually be -1 dollar. And I will be able to afford this trip.

Also, we want like at least two or three boys to go. So, if you guys are interested in going and being with the old group again check it out. It is really really cheap, there will be tons of hot sexy beach boys with hot sexy bodies and hot sexy tans (and for the guys, you get to see all the sexy Nerinx girls in bikinis...that is gonna be HOT).

Remember when we went to the Ozarks and had a blast? This is just about as cheap as the trip to the Ozarks and it is a trip to the beach. It is going to be sooo much fun.

And for you people who say "I cannot pay for that because I am saving up for a trip later on" (Keegan and Ella) this is sooo cheap. Anyone could get a job over Christmas break and be able to pay for this trip after one paycheck. I got paid 5.75 an hour and every two weeks I got paid about 130 dollars. Which is already enough for the trip.

Everyone should go seriously it will be so much fun and I want everyone to be able to keep in touch. This is our chance to get everyone together again just like old times and it is soo cheap. 60 dollars and cheaper if we find more people to go!

Whee!

how much do i love this kid?

so im going to class and i come across mikey who was on his way to the front desk to get a hammer. i was like hey borrow my hammer its in my room in the red tool kit mrs obtuse got me. and then mikey asked if i had a can opener instead cause then he wouldnt have to open his spaghetti os with a hammer and a screwdriver. i was like yeah i have a can opener use it man. thats when we parted. so i just got back from class and on my desk was the can opener and a note which stated the following "dear sarah, thanks o-so-much for the can opener (and the prospective hammer) by-the-by my spaghetti os were crazy good. love mikey" now tell me that isnt adorable. i love that kid!!

mikey: stop speaking in code
me: its not code its spanish

everyone on the second floor (my floor) of my dorm is up at 5 in the morning because we all keep throwing up
so yay for sharing a sickness due to close quarters
but oh so gross....

my friend tim, looking a little creepy.

his was probably my favorite of the costumes saturday night.

only at grinnell...

so... grinnell has this thing every year called fetish ball... it is, naturally, exactly what it sounds like. and it's a lot of fun. me and my roommate were lesbian catholic school girls; she was the slutty christian one and i was the dark angsty one, mostly because i tried to die my hair with kool-aid and it came out in a kind of green that fit perfectly. p.s. my hair smells like grapes.

Guess who is coming to galesburg!

ok, so apparently, tomorrow, fred phelps is coming to galesburg to protest a soldiers funeral. yeah, that evil bastard, fred phelps...you know the guy who runs the godhatesfags website, yeah, that guy. so pretty much my whole school is going to go and protest his protest and to support the guy's family. i looked at the website to see what kind of signs they bring, and it's brutal. they actually hold signs up with the dead person's picture on it and their name and then "so-and-so is going to hell" and they draw flames around the picture. yeah, really compassionate for the grieving family who just lost someone they love. but haha, luckily, they made a bit of a mistake. see, they got the permit to protest the funeral...but for the wrong address. apparently, they got the permit to protest outside the back of the church (the church's business office) where no one will be able to see them. haha we've all been warned that this group makes their money off of suing people who interupt their protests, so we'll have to be really careful. there was this one old guy who once accidently bumped into one of the protesters, and now he's being sued. my friend matt wants to have people surround fred phelps car, hold hands, and hold their hands up in the air so that when he gets back, he has to push or hit us to get us out of the way so then we can sue him...i don't know that i'll actually do that, but i know shane, matt, and a bunch of other guys in the suite may. anyway, yay for protesting ignorant, narrow minded people!

i love the frat boys!

ok. not something i ever thought i'd say. i never thought that i'd hang out with frat boys or ever go to a frat. but alas, i went to a frat party that my friends are pledging at and had a blast! once i was drunk, it was really easy to meet people. woo!!! i love drinking! but don't you worry, i won't do it too much, only every other weekend or so.

on the topic of thanksgiving: i was planning on skipping out on mass and going to mickey d's or something like that in webster so we should all do that. cause i say so. and my word is law. just think of me as queen amanda I (cause you know they will clone me). but back on subject. can't wait to see you all over thanksgiving and whatnot.

one more thing: the violation game has made me waaaay too comfortable with myself. has anybody else found this to be true for them? so far at least 10 people have seen my boobs and 2 have touched them (under the bra), and i really don't care. thats not a bad thing is it? cause i hope not. i have gotten to see 3 of them naked in return. that's a good trade off, isn't it? i think our violation game has made me too open with my body, and i blame all of you. so, thank you for touching my boobs so much and getting naked in my pool. good prep for college, i guess.

well, i have a date with my history book right now. its gonna get pretty damn hot, let me tell ya. see most of ya soon. as for the rest of you (east coasters and katie), happy turkey day! hope you enjoy it as much as i'm planning to. luv y'all!

Hey! Pay Attention To Me 'Cause I'm Cute!!!

that was my tribute to Q, but since thats out of the way... i just wanted to say that i love you all and everybody needs to take a deep breath and chiiiiiiillllllllllllll... ok whooo that was nice wasnt it? i know we are so excited to see each other at thanksgiving and/or christmas, but it seems that it is making some people a little sad as well. we miss, care for, and love each other and we cant wait to chill with the homies but in the mean time we have school and life to deal with (ugh id hate to admit it but its true). so all my dear and beloved friends, please take care of yourselves, dont get stressed, and take care of your shit so when we do get to see eachother there isnt any shit hanging over our heads and we can just enjoy our time together. i love you all and am looking forward to seeing you over the holiday breaks! remember you have like 15 of your friends backing you up here and hoping that you are doing well. ok well im off to do some homework or something (ok mess around and procrastinate), so be cool, stay in school, and eat a button. ok wait, scratch the last one. :D

Teeny: Roberta, truth or dare?
Roberta: Truth.
Teeny: Just how big are your boobs now?
Roberta: Drop dead.
Teeny: She has to say, doesn't she, Sam?
Samantha: She doesn't have to say if she doesn't want to.
Teeny: Then can we see them?
Roberta: No, you can't see them!
~Now and Then

i don't think we're catholic anymore, toto

i was ever so glad to escape catholicism, but, you know, i was in a catholic environment for 18 years, and life outside is... different. most notably, we didn't pray before zombie prom. and i missed it. not for jesus or anything, but just because it was a good focus and i felt more like a group with everyone else.

oddly enough, i've found myself defending christianity. still, not like it's my thing or anything, but after years of theology i know a thing or two about dogma. whereas my friend sam, poor excuse for a jew if there ever was one, is often misinformed. it's strange that despite my general distaste for the catholic religion, i still find myself on that side of a debate. hmm.

p.s. i also now use my tote. a LOT!

i dreamed a dream

i had a dream that a lot of you guys were riding in a car but it got into a horrible accident and everyone died. i think it was my subconscious trying to tell me to get my head out of my ass, because until that night, i thought that i didn't miss home, that i didn't miss nerinx, or i didn't miss any of you. i haven't posted in a while, and i think it's because i believed that. i could claim that wellesley has consumed my life, with work, failing 2 classes, frisbee, senate, etc. but no, i was just denying the fact. i miss you guys. sometimes i feel so overwhelmed that i just need someone to hug. and not the wimpy ones i get around here. i want a carolyn hug or a sarah hug or a any marker splotches hug that squeezes me so tightly it feels like all my troubles go oozing out of me. i want someone to watch nerinx girls gone wild with me and i want to sing lotr the musical. i miss the gossip and trivial details of nerinx life. shit, i'm homesick, i guess.

it's not that i don't like wellesley. it's perfect. i have friends. i have great teachers. i have a boy. (oh yah- all girls' school what?) i have a rep and a future here. but it just makes me forget my past.

i hate college. and i love it.

wake me up when college ends.

see you all in december.

Um, you all know how much I love church...

...Yeah. So is everyone going to the Thanksgiving masS? Cuz I'm gonna go, but then leave when it's actually time to attend mass. Anyone want to ditch and go get lunch like old times in Old Webster? Eh? EH? haha, I'm in a weird mood, my apologies. But I"m serious about skipping mass, and going to lunch. Anywho, I'll be back Friday night, the 18th...we've got a long break, so sue me. Talk to you later. God be with you.

Sleepless in Galesburg

hey, y'all. i'm just blogging because i've been up all night and i have class in like 40 minutes and i don't know what to do anymore. see, all movement is painful becuse apparently, i have a kidney infection...i don't know how one gets that, but i'm drinking lots of water...lots of water. and i have to go to the bathroom like every hour. i feel like a normal girl now--going to the bathroom after every class and stuff--it's weird. but anywho this is my last week of classes (i know you hate me...but you really love me) and next week is final exam week. so next saturday i'll be going back to the good ol' STL (not quite the same as the USSR) until Jan. 2. Is anyone else going to the Alumnae mass thingy? i'll be there. we should do something after. (that sounds like a pick up line) well, i think i'm going to upload some good time pictures...love to all.

Wednesday, November 09, 2005

Does anyone else now enjoy facebook? Photo albums are an amazing invention. Especially because you can put really embarrassing pictures up of other people. We seem to be a very picture-ridden group... or is that just most girls?

P.S. Two weeks until Thanksgiving break. Thanks be.

zombie prom II

so, zombie prom is over. i would have invited you guys up to see it, but we sold out in a matter of hours and all my friends here didn't even get in. anyway, it was a ball, even if my prom dress was slightly less than scandalizingly short. so here's some highlights of the show (pictures to follow):

"richard nixon? you can't drag his name through the mud. that man's character is unimpeachable."
"gotta cheer up; he only died. hey, it's not like he's screwing around."
"i'm a toxic student with a shocking tale, shaking up the geiger scale."
"she did raise him from the dead. a guy expects things when a girl does that, you know?" and my resonse: "you are such a jockstrap!"
"if that freak wants his diploma, that's what catholic schools are for."
"wow, great dress. how does it stay up?" my response: "play your cards right and i might show you someday."
"you were such a good girl... on the outside. but beneath the icy exterior was a blazing inferno. i knew one day you would melt, and i wanted to be there to lick up the puddle."
"five minutes of sweaty, sordid paradise that ruined my life forever!" boys: "five minutes??" eddie: "i was young. i was very young!"

i realize this makes this post super long, but here are the verses of the song expose (that i sadly was not in) with the uptight principal and the sleazy reporter talking about their youthful romance. while tangoing. in veeeeery suggestive ways. if front of a very appreciate audience.

i like to see homos naked (let me know if you caught the reference cause you get a cookie)

so do you guys ever realize that our conceptions of home are so freakin distorted right now? people say oh i'll be home in an hour, in a week, in a month, the 8 months.....where the hell is my home right now? is it here? my dorm? with my family? where i put my jeans when i'm wearing my pajamas? where i store my crap? where my friends are? where my heart is? where my mind is? where my body is? where i park my bike? where i eat my food?

cause if any of those are true it could be any number of places....394 Newsom? 8512 Mathilda? Fort Collins? AGR frat house? CO? StL? The house at the corner of Magnolia and Sheilds? Denver? my closet? on my floor? some storage unit on Gravois? Kirksville? Chicago? Cinninnati? New York? Tulsa? any of the other millsion places that my friends have disappeared to? Taco Bell?

three-way anyone??

ok so although my dad and i have our issues, guess what he brought me for parent weekend?? three-way stuff! (ok, so the title gave it away...) well, he brought me already cooked angel hair pasta to keep in my fridge, two cans of chili man's no bean chili, oyster crackers, and a bag of shredded cheese. so it's time for me to introduce my suite mates to the three way...and invite some boys of course. i've already walked through shane's suite asking various males if they wanted to have a three way with me cause i had all the right stuff and they were always so satisfying and hot...spicy even. hahaha, you should have seen their faces...ah, but it does make me nostalgic about all of the middle of the night three-ways we catholic school girls have shared together...with various boys. all i can do is sigh and say, "good times, good times..."

weekend slackers

i love how the posts stop on the weekends... everyone is too busy to blog...myself included...i'll admit it...but look at me its almost freakin 4 am here...i'm a crazy kid....what am i doing up? bed time...

I started getting addicted through newspaper sudokus. Now it is also on the internet. Sudoku has pretty much taken over my life. Literally. And on the internet Sudoku you can even set it so that you can type in more than one number in each space. Internet Sudoku: http://www.websudoku.com

OMG KEEGAN MUST READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!

Keegan, I walked through my lounge tonight and some people were playing Trivial Pursuit. So I just go to fill up my water bottle and I hear "famous cellist?" and I am thinking in my head "I know this! Its Yo Yo Ma!" Whee! The kid who had the question didn't actually know it. I was going to console him by telling him I didn't know either (remember Yo Yo Ma Ma) but then everyone started making fun of him and so I decided to just not say anything.

On a more depressing note, tonight was alright. Halloween weekend was AMAZING! Tonight, alright. I had tons of fun setting up the haunted house and getting my costume together again (I will post pictures as soon as Rachel gets them developed). Also, me, Mike Bono, Mike, and Jeremy were on the news. It was pretty cool and our Haunted House turned out looking pretty damn sweet and even made kids cry!! Anyway, we went to this speaker on ghosts and then after that some people wanted to go to this one cemetary that has something to do with the devil I don't know what. So the group started out as like 7 people wanting to go and ended up with like 15 people who wanted to go. While we were all waiting to figure things out I went in my room and called my mom to talk to her. When I walked back out in the lounge to see if everyone was ready to go only Jeremy and Shannon were there and the other 13 people were gone. So I get a call from Mike Bono saying to go to 3 South (I was in 3 North). So I went over there and found out that they were planning on giving the 8 people who were not initially going to go the wrong directions so that not too many people were going to one cemetary. My roomate and my friends were the other 8 people. So I called Rachel and told her. So, all the other people who got the wrong directions and were about to leave were pissed at me. Then the original 7 people were pissed because I told everyone else about it. What a childish thing to do. Seriously if they didn't want that many people going than they could have said to people "We don't want this many people going because we don't want to get caught". It really made me mad that they gave them the wrong directions. And then they were pissed at me for telling the others they had the wrong directions. I said "I am not gonna start shit with my roomate now we have to live together" and they were like "Don't you think its a bit extreme to get pissed about this?" I would have been really pissed if it happened to me...but maybe I'm extreme or unreasonable.

Then I talked to Tom and just got really sad because people were pissed at me and because I miss Tommy and because this is the first year I didn't get to see Mikey and Marge and Shelley all dressed up for Halloween. I'm sorry this is so long. It just started out happy and then got depressing but I really needed to rant and it's really hard to rant to anyone when everyone is pissed at you.
