i don't think we're catholic anymore, toto

i was ever so glad to escape catholicism, but, you know, i was in a catholic environment for 18 years, and life outside is... different. most notably, we didn't pray before zombie prom. and i missed it. not for jesus or anything, but just because it was a good focus and i felt more like a group with everyone else.

oddly enough, i've found myself defending christianity. still, not like it's my thing or anything, but after years of theology i know a thing or two about dogma. whereas my friend sam, poor excuse for a jew if there ever was one, is often misinformed. it's strange that despite my general distaste for the catholic religion, i still find myself on that side of a debate. hmm.

p.s. i also now use my tote. a LOT!

i know about the religion thing. i find myself getting into more discussions about it now and here then i ever did at nerinx. and like you, i am also defending christianity. but in a way, i'm thankful for nerinx and the relgion it shoved down my throat, becase it allows me to be well-informed about the bible and historical truths and such. and it means i can tell who's an idiot.

see...im typically on the other side of the debates...most of the people around here are christians and have a rediculously strong faith in some form of christian church...and its pretty funny to me cause they will be all like wow a catholic you must know a lot about jesus...come join our bible circles...and i will say nah, i worship the devil now...jesus wasn't doing it for me...

on the other hand some people like to write me off as a heathen that doesn't know anything and then i bust out some random christian knowledge i picked up in sr. lou's frosh religion class or noonan's junior religion class and i totally kick ass in any religious discussion...

in conclusion...i kick ass...nerinx was good for something...i don't regret religion i just reject it...

yeah, i hate to start a stereotype with you anna, but i know a jewish kid here too who doesn't know much about his religion. there's this jewish kid (richard) who wears a yamica and all. and he won't touch women because we're "unclean" (don't even get me started on how off he is on this belief) but he was eating a cheeseburger the other day!!! a cheeseburger!! (for those of you who don't know/remember, this is very, very not kosher) and I was like, whoa, shouldn't you not be eating that cause you're way orthodox jewish...and that's not kosher? and he was just like, "what? Kosher?" and i then had to teach him about how you can't have meat and dairy in te same meal, especially at the same time...on the same piece of food! me, miss catholic school for all of her life knew more about jewishness than the jewish guy!! for someone who is wholeheartedly accepting a religion even deciding who is "clean" and "unclean" to not understand a basic law of this religion of theirs is just plain ridiculus! if you're going to engage in extreme religion, at least be able to know the basics...
(ps-i'll explain the whole "clean" "unclean" thing at another time...this post is getting too long...)
