how my nerinx education has influenced my reputation here.

so back in the stl i believe that all of us have had a certain reputation. where we live, what our parents do for a living, what we eat, where we go to school it all effects what other people think of us. i have a reputation for living in affton as well as one for going to nerinx, as well as one for riding a motorcycle, as well as one for just about everything else i do. well basically all of those go away when you live in a new state, a new city, with new people. especially here when "i went to nerinx" doesn't mean shit. neither does "i lived in affton". i have discovered a few things about boys in this little journey of mine. granted its only been a week, but i've learned a few things about the shriveled male psyche.

i really don't know what it is about a catholic school girl that is so hot. i don't get it. i never will. however, i have met so many guys that think that is the hottest thing on the planet. it seems to be all about the plaid skirt and the tall white socks. i tried convincing a few of them that nuns do not slap us with rulers while we moan sexually. we don't shave our legs as often as public school girls. there are typically more lesbians (whether thats true or not i don't really know but it didn't really seem to help my case much). we are way more comfortable with our sexuallity. so much so that its scarey. we wear less make up, typically on a day to day basis. but my efforts have been in vain cause they don't understand shit. boys are stupid like that.

i'd also like to point out that most guys from stl don't really think of a girl on a motorcycle as they hottest thing. they think its cool, fun, crazy, whatever but not usually hot. here in fo co its a different story. its hot again. don't get it. i agree its kickass but i'm not used to the overwhelming gawking and cat calls.

now if you put the two together, a plaid skirt on a bike...it makes for a deadly combination. one which i wil never understand. i was just kind of wondering if anyone else was experiencing similar situations. it seems to be one of the many symptoms of culture shock. you will never truly realize how weird stl is until you move away. honestly. no sweet gum balls, no toasted ravioli, no taco hut, no bread co, no ted drews, no rally's, no shnuckes, no bank of america, no sanity. seriously. bring on the studying abroad programs cause i might as well be doing it now. i can handle the culture shock of studying in spain cause i've gotten through a week here.

Sorta yes, but sorta no. A lot of people here came from all boys or all girls schools so it isn't really a special thing. i have found it is really hard to explain stuff to people, cause i guess i use some stl sayings, or i was about to say something about city museum the other day, but i gave up because i couldnt get them to understand how freaking cool that place is.

it's really weird to have classes with guys for once. and to live in a small town, where there's not much of a reason to go out. honestly. what would i do out there among the townies?

also, i wish there were a target here because i want to dye my hair. and i liked that brand from target. i wonder if walmart has it? but then, i don't actually want to go inside to find out.

guys here think the plaid skirt thing is hot, too. haha. meghan brought hers and showed the guys next to us. they don't realize that while we may wear skirts that show off our legs, our legs were more often than not unshaven. therefore, not hot.

update: wal-mart does not have temporary hair dye at all. however, it does have yarn, so sarah, merge, and dave, i will begin making hats again. i may up the price just slightly because wal-mart is an insanely crazy (why the hell did i do it) walk, especially in flip-flops in 93 degrees.
