the eigth sign of the apocalypse

break out those bomb shelters. cover your heads and run around crazily. say good bye to your loved ones. the world is coming to an end. i, melissa annette ford, on this date of 10 june 2005, with free will and being sound of mind, have gotten a cell phone. ugh. i know. i was forced into it though. seriously. my sister got a new phone so we got one free and then it's like 10 bucks to add someone to our family plan, and i need a phone for college, so this was basically shoved down my throat. if you're lucky, i may give you my number, but (in a stroke of genius) i realized publishing it online would be kinda stupid. so yeah, ask me if you want. grrr.

Even though you like Macs, i still want your number. But what provider do you have? and what model phone did you get?

thank you. that was my reason from cell phone abstinance. i figure after college and my parents stop paying for stuff, i'll get rid of it and then they can't get mad because i'm not in the family plan

Yeah, I got one for Christmas frosh year, and didn't use it at all. No one had phones then. But I made up for the lack of use by adding ridiculous charges on my bill to make up for lost time...Susan wasn't too pleased with that one...

Hmm the reason I chose a phone was to make it my prime contact number, so I wouldnt have to give out my home phone anymore. So far I seem to be the only one to mention that. I mean seriously how many emergencies have you needed a phone for. I can count that on one hand, and thats hardly worth the monthtly fee.

i can actually think of quite a few times when a cell phone has come in quite handy in an emergency...i can also think of quite a few times when i've needed to contact someone via cell phone and haven't been able to...however i can't count how many times i've given missy perfectly good directions to a taco bell and she, not having a cell phone and being lost, gave up on the taco bell and went home...so bravo for missy and the cell phone miracle...

If you indeed gave her perfectly good directions, than it is not a matter of her not having a cell phone, but rather of her being completely incompetent at reading and/or following said directionss. If she had a phone and you gave her perfectly good directions over the phone, is their any reason to belive she would make it to taco bell with the same directions? Ever think that your directions might have just flat out sucked evidence by they didn't fulfil there only goal, which was to get your friend to taco bell. Don't be so quick to pass the blame.

oh jeff, you are right again. i am a complete incompetent. i can't do directions, even when they are expertly given to me by carolyn. i'm lost without you jeff. save me!!!!!!

to be perfectly honest, i get lost going to taco huts. i can find taco bells fine.

jeff, are you by chance missing the point of that post? because it's not that carolyn's directions suck, it's that missy, if she has trouble following directions can now call someone and be like, i'm next to denny's; where am i? etc. and i would like a cell phone because i think i would make good use out of it. like right now, i'm at my grandparents', and i could call reba's cell and find out if she's in the neighborhood or not. if she is, and i go home and hang out with her later, that will be disappointing.

my directions are very rarely wrong or misleading and its usually missy's unfortunate luck to not be able to find taco huts (your right i apologize for saying taco bells)...i pass no deserved blame and there is every reason to belive she would make it to taco bell with directions given via phone because she seems to find everything just fine when someone is in the car with her and talking on a cell phone gives the same help that being in a car with her would give...thus getting her to ever taco hut she needs to be at...

LAWL X bajillion

I honestly think that is the funniest thing I have read today. I laughed for a solid minute and am still laughing about. I will think of that tommorow while I am jogging and fall over and die because I will think of that statement and start laughing. I don't even want to touch the other comments beceause it will ruin this near perfectly hilarious moment. ah good times.
