um, right, so that's how many people did the komen race for the cure. and i was one of them! me and my sissy. i was all set to do the 5k run/walk, but my sister was like, ooh i want to do the 1 mile, i'm so tired and hungry, blah blah blah.....i was also tired and hungry. so i gave in. needless to say, i'm glad i did, because we ended up leaving at 9:30 instead of like, 11:00, so we went shopping and got lunch! and now i have a NEW PAIR OF JEANS. and i love them. like, i'm in love with them! angela, they're the same ones you have. i didn't really like them at the store, and then i saw you wearing them and they looked so good, so i got some too. and i love em! anyways, i'm going to use the bathroom now, and then make some phone calls.

Ya, and they raised over 2 million bucks. And of those 60k people i think nearly 4k were survivors. I didn't run but I helped set up the registration tables for the pre-race stuff at malls and then I helped set up all the tents and tables and trashcans and orange fencing at the survivor area. Yes about 75% of that orange fencing by the main stage was pounded into the ground by yours truly. Oh and just a heads up, but sledge hammers, while one of the coolest tools ever are really freaking heavy. Especially when your hammering above your center of gravity.
Hmm I hope none of them fell over. I broke a few of the wooden polls due to terrible terrible aim on my part, so we had to pound rebar into the ground and use twisty ties.
And it shouldnt take an hour and a half extra to run the 5k. It takes about 10 min to walk 1 mile and about 20 min to run 5k. That's a ten minute difference.
Ten minutes to walk a mile? Whose watch are you using?
" Ten minutes to walk a mile? Whose watch are you using?"
actually i was just guessing, i cant imagine it takes much longer than that. 15 min tops, but that only serves to prove my point more.
20 minutes to run 3.1 miles is for those who actually train. assuming there are no incredible changes in altitude. 6:40 miles...
my best time was a 16:12, but that was all flat
who's running? um, that's right, not me. so, maybe it would take a fit human to run 5k, but sadly, i am not. but thanks for the estimates; maybe next year
hey marge!! its katie jackson that day was super fun and i still have your water bottle and i intend to give it back to u asap or whenever u and me and sarah get together or w/e ttyl babe
hey miryam? do you remember that time back in gym class when we had to run a mile? and we were graded on it because we had that annoying performance-based grading thing going on? yeah... i got a c because it took me around 10 minutes to run a mile. but believe it or not, that's not even my worst gym class grade. that same year, i didn't do one of the reports (yes, we had to do f******** reports in gym class) and so i got a zero. but i don't know why a teacher would have anyone do a report on a sport that isn't a real sport!! (i shall never play speedball as long as i live)
