anyone else hate the new busch stadium?
i do- too much advertisement. too much gimmick. probably didn't help that i went wednesday and witnessed a really crappy game. oh well- i just miss the old busch. growing up and going away sucks.
that being said...
tomorrow the love of my life (aaron michael bell) comes in from maine and i know you all expressed wishes to meet him. so, i'm just announcing him so you all know. but i promise to be social next week. babysitting has consumed my life recently, but my bank account makes up for it.
anyway, point of this post: 1- new busch sucks 2- my boyfriend is coming in tomorrow 3- money=good

oh, and i'm very very exciting about meeting the boy!
the new busch is kinda bad when you walk to concourse...but i like the fact that they kept the field the same shape (unlike other parks putting hills in the outfield), and the bullpens in the same place, and it's cool to get that view of downtown outside. it really makes st louis look bigger when you see it from busch. but this is from a guy who works for the cardinals...so yeah...i do miss the old busch and its wonderful arches.
What the Christ? I was most definitely at the game on Wednesday, too.
And since I don't really like baseball, the main draw of going to Cards games has always been people-watching. Since the new stadium was built, it seems the average income of the stadium's clientele has risen, which makes the people-watching a little less interesting. If I want to see yuppies, I'll go to work, thankyouverymuch. I miss the days of sitting behind JeffCo methwhores and in front of north City ballers.
Instead, I sat in front of some guys from Boeing Corporate who kept talking about how they needed some report from their guys in Singapore and how they couldn't get the military rate at the Embassy Suites in St. Chuck and had to get the Boeing rate. Most definitely not as interesting. And this was in the Goddamn cheap seats.

about the stadium - the jury is still out for me. i havent gone to a game, so i dunno yet.

yeah, the new busch stadium is for ADD people. it's like flashy over here. no flashy there. no here. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! the statdium is for baseball. i wish that was still the focus.
