I feel so cool
I just got my laptop! I just got my laptop! (That was me jumping around, dancing, and singing around my house.) yay! now I feel official! I am going to college! Woohoo! I want to name it, so...if anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to post them. I've already installed my Age of Mythology on here, so after I install Pharaoh (sp?) and put all my music on here, I'm ready to roll! I mean, I'll have my games, my music, my email, my internet, and my dvd player...what more do I need for college?

What brand/model/specs? And if you like age of mythology you should definetly check out Age of Empires 3 when it comes out. That game looks fucking sick(as in increibly awesome). That and Supreme Commander(made by chris taylor if that name means anything to you).
Also just a heads up, but make sure you either have an extra battery or a power charger with you if you expect to play games while not plugged in. Depending on the video card and graphic settings you have, you will get a lot less battery life. The top end gaming laptops will play doom3 for about 45 minutes top before draining the battery. Just something to watch/be aware of.
Should have gotten an iBook. 7 hours of battery life per charge(I found out that having several widgets on your dashboard is killer on bat life, and also upgrading to 10.4.2 seems to have helped).
where'd you get the upgrade? how much? cause i'm still on 10.2.8. and i definitely need it for college and the movies i'm making. (and also sims2...)
well you can upgarde to 10.4 for like 70 bucks student price. Got to apple.com then to store, then click on education on the side. find your school, and then go back to the main store page. you will see student prices. I think 10.4 is like 70 bucks(down from 120). The 10.4.X upgrades are all free and downloadable via software update. You are a whole two versions behind. 10.5 will be out in about a year or so to compete with Longhorn.
Oh and fyi, the upgrade is definetly worth it. Security is better, and there are like 200 upgrades between 10.3 and 10.4 automater, dashboard, and spotlight are the big ones. But there is some other added that you dont reall notice but are doing there job.
i suggest the name "ra." you need something fitting, that has something to do with what your computer is like, but that no one will understand.
actually, my computer's name is maxine. it has nothing really to do with the actual machine.
I named mine charlatan.
Right now my computer is named Haskillia. Used to be Free Pron, but I got bored of that, and the IT person at our school didn't find it as funny as me.
I actually got a Gateway notebook. It is really good. It runs well and has many nifty games and programs. My parents demanded that I get Windows, but I really like it. It isn't that heavy (6 lbs or maybe 5 lbs). I have Age of Empires 2, but I don't know if I have enough money for the new one. oh, and thanks for the heads up about battery life, jeff.
oh, and i'm still meditating on a good name.
my laptop is still on the shelf, somewhere in the world.
You should just name it something like Jeff Sucks. That way I know at least one person will remember me 6 months from now.
Crap i missed an easy joke. at the end of your post you said "what more do I need for college?" and i should have responded with something dumb like, a brain or some intelligence or something like that. Your computer talk got me all distracted though. Consider yourself lucky, I wont slip again.
yea! got my upgrade! i'm 10.4 now! woo-woo. and i believe everyone knows my laptop's name is dory ichiro zordex III.
i was wondering if anyone would jump on my open opportunity to make an intelligence/studying joke. thanks for noticing. and while i would love to immortalize you by naming my laptop after you, i would get very tired explaining to people at college the whole story behind it. sorry, thanks for the input though.
oh, and missy, your computer's name reminds me of chihiro...you know from "spirited away" (which i bought!!)...well at least the one part reminds me of chihiro.
So you never told us the specs of your compy. CPU Ram video card screen size will suffice. A picture would also be nice. The only PC notebooks I have really liked are the IBM Thinkpads.
