I still don't believe.

Apparently, I have been attending this thing called "college" for almost two weeks now. But I'm not entirely sure that it has actually sunk in. Here I am, in my dorm room, pictures of you guys all around, homework and dirty clothes scattered on the ground, people in a guy's dorm down the hall begging me to come hang out with them, drunk people roaming the halls, and I still get a little bit of a shock whenever I think "I'm in college", or when I read a blog that has the word "college" in it.

P.S. Yay for gay friends.

careful when it sinks in...it'll either make ya wanna throw up or...it'll be the coolest thing in the world...it sunk in with me when i heard someone you use the term "bomb dig" (the heart wrenching stomach retching one)...i thought god damn...i don't know what the fuck you mean by that...apparently it means cool...i wouldn't know...i'm not from around here...it also sunk in for me when i first said "well, when i get back home" in reference to my dorm...that was the coolest feeling in the world...

i'm with carolyn... i've been here for almost a month and it's weird.. i went home for labor day weekend and st. louis doesn't feel like home anymore.. i felt like a stranger, an outsider, i really didn't belong.. i couldn't wait to come back to tulsa to finally feel "at home" and needed. granted, i miss some of the stuff from home, but the sad truth is that my home is now in tulsa, oklahoma (oh god..) and will be for awhile... wait til things hit you.. it sucks but then the freedom, the choices, the fun, it all seems so much cooler b/c you realize that that's what life is for you now

st. louis doesn't feel like home anymore? doesn't it depressed the fuck out of anyone else that it will never be our home again? at least not that house, not those people, not that place. we can never go back to that. and we can't stay in college forever either. AAAAAHHHH I HATE GROWING UP (insert mini-break down here)

You said it Missy. I was finally getting used to high school, finally getting out and about in St. Louis, and I feel like I've just been ripped out of what's comfortable and thrown into a whirlwind of alcohol, boys, drugs, homework, sports, prisoners, theater, choir, you name it. And four years from now (who knows if I'll have settled in by then), I'll just get thrown into another new life. Well, they say it's good to break out of your comfort zone. I guess it builds character or something? Well, I am going to be one built character.

You totally want to go to college. It's wicked fun. Don't let this rant scare you. Just look at all the fun/crazy stories.

what's weirdest is our rlc, whose job seems to be planning events, telling us about these events, and helping us when we need it. so basically, she's a camp counselor. what would that be like, to be a counselor all year? and that's where you go home to?

also, grinnell doesn't let off for silly things like labor day.
