To Love Another Person Is To See The Face Of God

Do you hear the people sing, singing the song of angry men? It is the music of a people who will not be slaves again. When the beating of your heart echos the beating of the drums there is a life about to start when tomorrow comes.

Yeah so I went to see Les Mis at the Muny. It was really good. The singing was so good it gave me chills throughout most of the performance, which was quite a feat because it was 100 degrees outside last night with no breeze. Anyway, it was the only other performace of Les Mis I have seen that brought tears to my eyes (besides the Nerinx performance). The only thing I didn't like is they sped up certain parts of the performance because it was so long...and the parts the sped up were when Eponine and Gavroche died. While Eponine and Marius were singing to each other it was really sad and all, but happened so quickly it was hard to get too emotional about it.

Seeing the show at the Muny really brought back a wave of memories. Now that I think about it I don't even remember where I put all my old programs and stage props and stuff. I really wish I knew where it was. It is so hard to watch a musical and you have every lyric memorized but you cant just sing to your hearts content like me and Carolyn used to do in the booth while buring plastic spoons with a lighter and being watched over by the angry nun. I miss all the days of working our asses off but it being fun because our friends are with us. I miss Alan Naylors ghost (which I think will die off with the death of our old theatre) and I miss how Amandas face kept getting shoved into his ass on the trampoline. I miss Marc and how I stole his hat cause I thought he was hot and wanted him to come back up to the booth to get it. I miss Andy the light guy and walking backstage in the rep. I really just miss doing backstage for Nerinx theatre and everything about it.

But let me say this, the Muny's barricade was fucking awesome. Probably because a few days before the performance the director didn't yell "PAINT IT BLACK". Seriously their barricade was really cool. My mom's friend got us awesome seats. If anyone else gets the chance go see it. It was great.

those whores? didn't sing like whores. unlike OUR production, in which the "lovely ladies" sang in such a wonderfully gritty way.

oh, and the night i went, me thenardier's mic wasn't working for quite some time. you could barely hear her (sometimes not at all), but you could hear someone saying, "what's wrong with her mic?" and "can't they fix it?"

but i did love it overall. eponine was really good.
