romani ite domum
so it's 8:59 according to my computer--wait, 9--and i have just mowed my lawn. of course, when i say just, i mean i finished, got some cookies and sat down here. it was rather dark and kind of hard to see the grass. luckily our yard is usually a miniature jungle, so i could figure it out well enough. the fun thing is, mowing grass is kind of loud. and there are a good handful of young children/babies on my block/in my vicinity. i probably woke one or two up.
it seems kind of weird to mow the lawn in the dark. however, i have three good arguments. 1) my mom told me to mow the lawn (in case you're interested, i also was supposed to wash the dishes, which i did) 2) we were borrowing the neighbor's mower, so i had to wait for him to bring it over, by which time the light had begun to fade. then i had to figure out how to use the darn thing. which took time. 3) i think my neighborhood is weird enough that mowing in the dark is not so bad. case and point: at about 7:30, i am doing the dishes and happen to look out the window. there is a chicken in the garden.
p.s. please respond affirmatively if you get the reference in the title. shpanks
